OUR EXPERT WITNESSES
Our expert witnesses are required to undertake a comprehensive legal training programme with our in house lawyers to provide them with an understanding of their duties to the Court and the requirement to provide objective, unbiased and fact based evidence. Upon completion of the training programme they have a solid understanding of the competencies required of them pursuant to the Civil Procedure Rules Part 35, the related Practice Direction (PD35) and the Guidance for the Instruction of Experts in Civil Claims 2014 (Civil Justice Council). We also run regular training sessions throughout the year which include refreshers of legal principles, case law updates, compliance with GDPR and presenting with professionalism and resilience when delivering verbal evidence.
In addition, all of our expert witnesses have been personally mentored by Fiona Johnson in relation to key aspects of their role, for example, assessment, review of evidence, report production and presenting a clear rationale for opinion in conferences and joint discussions.
