OUR EXPERT WITNESS COMPANY

Fiona Johnson Ltd is a leading national Expert Witness Company located in Stalybridge in the North West of England, where our experienced administration, management and legal team are based.

Founded by Fiona Johnson RGN, we house a team of experienced expert witnesses in the fields of nursing, occupational therapy, transport needs, physiotherapy and statutory funding. Our experts have a wide range of experience in the care sector enabling the provision of robust, independent and concise expert reports.

Our expert witnesses are experienced clinicians who possess the relevant knowledge and skill in their areas of clinical expertise.  They are up to date with best practice and clinical developments.  All have been personally mentored by Fiona Johnson in relation to key aspects of their role, for example, assessment, review of evidence, report production and presenting professionally and resiliently in conferences and joint discussions.

It is essential that all our expert witnesses are fully compliant with the Civil Procedure Rules Part 35, Practice Direction 35, and the Guidance for the Instruction of Experts in Civil Claims (2014).  Our in house lawyers deliver a comprehensive training programme to our associates educating and guiding them in relation to their roles and responsibilities pursuant to CPR Part 35.  We also provide ongoing training throughout the year which includes case law updates, the civil proceedings process, GDPR updates and programmes to develop skills such as presenting evidence in conferences and cross examination.

Due to the recent CCC judgment, we have recently undertaken a further training session with our associates to highlight the importance of making sure we are Part 35 compliant, and remain objective in their role to the court.

Timescales for reports can be negotiated depending on the requirements of the case, our standard reporting timescale is 6 weeks following the assessment.  We are also happy to discuss requests for urgent visits and reports which need a quick turnaround.

We cover the whole of the UK and can travel overseas.  Should the need arise, our nursing, occupational therapy and physiotherapy experts can be instructed on the same case to carry out separate reports.  This can assist with the coordination of the claim.

We can be reached Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm by telephone or email.

OUR IN HOUSE MANAGERIAL SUPPORT

Together our team use their keen legal knowledge and management skills to support the experts in the legal field, and enable them to produce compliant and well insulated reports.
