Stacey Tobin

Nurse - Case Manager

Stacey is an experienced registered Paediatric Nurse with extensive clinical and case management experience within the NHS and independent sector, both in the UK. She qualified as a nurse in 2004 and began her career in Neonatal intensive care. She then progressed her career via a secondment opportunity and completed the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse degree, focusing on Child and Adolescent public health surveillance, within state and independently funded schools.

It was shortly after that Stacey joined Greater Manchester Police within the Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons unit where she worked as a Case Management Lead for over a decade. To maintain her nursing registration whilst working for the police, Stacey worked at Mastercall, the out of hours emergency service. Here she also assessed and triaged adult patients for over five years.

In addition, during this time Stacey studied Law and successfully secured both her Law Degree and Masters in Law. After working as a paralegal, Stacey began working as a Case Manager in 2021 and combined her medical knowledge with her law, concentrating initially on paediatric clients that had suffered from catastrophic injuries, birth injuries and adolescents with acquired brain injuries. Whilst working as a case manager Stacey’s caseload increased and she was able to consolidate her previous experience of working with and caring for adult clients. The age range of her caseload then included young adults to a very elderly amputee who she currently works with. She is skilled in assessing the care needs of adults and organising their care packages.

She has worked with a varied caseload of both pre litigation and settled cases. Her professional background of both clinical and safeguarding knowledge demonstrates a thorough understanding of nursing, care, and healthcare provision. She is skilled at collaborating with other professionals and services to ensure the best outcomes for her clients. Stacey is experienced in setting up and managing private care packages, including independent living trials, and managing large and specialist rehabilitation programmes. She has an in-depth working knowledge of statutory funding streams and their eligibility criteria.

Stacey has undertaken comprehensive legal training and has a solid understanding of her duties to the Court pursuant to CPR Part 35 and understands the competencies required of her. She is very experienced in presenting a clear rationale for her opinion and is robust when presenting verbal and written evidence.
