Charlotte Goldsmith qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2010. She currently specialises in paediatrics, with over 13 years of experience in her field. She currently is employed as an Independent Practitioner Senior Occupational Therapist for a private company, supervising a team of treating therapists. Charlotte is a qualified moving and handling instructor, as part of this role she undertakes bespoke training for staff, writes and undertakes regular reviews of moving and handling assessments and plans. She has a detailed understanding of the assessment and provision of bespoke aids and equipment, collaborating with clinical professionals and families to facilitate safe transfers.

Charlotte has extensive experience in 24-hour postural management and in the assessment of individuals to recommend and supply complex equipment such as specialist seating, beds, mobility aids, ramps, and provision of additional equipment and accommodation requirements in preparation for holidays. Charlotte has assessed and recommended wheelchair adapted vehicles for a wide range of individuals and adapted her assessment to include; different types and sizes of vehicles, varying types of entry point for the client. She utilises her knowledge of the complexities of vehicle provision for a vast array of clients including catastrophically injured with a focus on postural management and respiratory health, and clients with behavioural issues.

Charlotte is qualified as an Ayres Sensory Integration Therapy Practitioner (Modules 1-3, Sensory Integration Network) with expertise in supporting young people with neurodiversity or autistic traits following acquired brain injury and has experience working as the lead OT on a mental health unit. She has a specialism in domiciliary safety for young people with behavioural challenges and managing risk; she provides occupational therapy assessments to support housing adaptations and improve accessibility and safety for people with complex needs.

Charlotte has vast knowledge of EHCPs and support required by a child in educational settings and can apply this to her recommendations.

Charlotte has undertaken medico-legal training pursuant to Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and accepts instructions on behalf of Claimant and Defendant firms.
