Michelle has over 35 years’ experience as a Registered General Nurse.

Most of her career has been working in the care industry and as a Case Manager, specialising in the field of spinal cord injury. She has enjoyed a varied career, practicing both within the NHS and in the private sector.

This role includes completing Immediate Needs Assessment reports, organising care and rehabilitation packages, providing progress reports and facilitating and co-ordinating the multidisciplinary teams.

Throughout her career Michelle has spent a large portion of time working in the care agency setting, namely with Active Assistance as a Senior Care Service Manager and clinical assessor and with Allied Healthcare as a registered Manager.

In her role as a Case Manager for clients with catastrophic spinal cord injuries, her clinical responsibilities include completing Immediate Needs Assessment reports, case load management, specialised assessments, organising care and rehabilitation packages, providing progress reports and facilitating and co-ordinating the multidisciplinary teams for both adults and children (acute care and discharge planning for people with complete or incomplete injury, paraplegia and tetraplegia)

As a Case Manager, she works alongside the legal teams both on a single and joint instruction basis.

Michelle’s case management expertise and proven ability to accurately propose complex injury care packages including, therapies and equipment and housing adaptations, transport, and vocational assistance; is drawn upon when she makes recommendations for care and aids & equipment within her expert witness work.

Michelle is an experienced and dedicated Nurse whose knowledge of Case Management processes in conjunction with her understanding of the litigation process, motivates her to write logical Part 35 Care and Aids & Equipment Reports in an effort to empower and enable individuals to reach their potential and live fulfilled lives.

With her extensive case management experience, Michelle specialises advising on construction and implementation of care packages in the community. Michelle has been working as an Expert Witness with Fiona Johnson Ltd for over two years. During this period, she has completed a range of cases including complex spinal injuries, orthopaedic, cancer, continence, and other medical conditions.
