Jared is an Occupational Therapist and Care Expert with extensive experience assessing the functional impact of serious injury and disability. His clinical background spans the NHS, adult social care, community rehabilitation and independent practice, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between injury, rehabilitation, care needs and long-term independence.

His expertise includes acquired brain injury, stroke, progressive neurological conditions, complex orthopaedic injuries, upper and lower limb trauma, amputations, musculoskeletal disorders, autism, learning disabilities and mental health. He is highly experienced in undertaking detailed functional assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations regarding rehabilitation, care and support, specialist equipment, assistive technology, moving and handling, accommodation and environmental adaptations.

Since commencing expert witness practice in 2022, Jared has completed over 50 medico-legal reports and accepts instructions from both Claimant and Defendant solicitors in personal injury and clinical negligence claims. He prepares clear, balanced and well-reasoned Care,  Occupational Therapy and Loss of Service reports, providing independent opinions on rehabilitation, care requirements, equipment, accommodation, assistive technology and future needs. His opinions are underpinned by detailed functional assessment, current occupational therapy practice and his duties as an independent expert in accordance with CPR Part 35.

Alongside his medico-legal practice, Jared is Director of Empowering Independence Limited, delivering specialist neurological rehabilitation within the community. He also works in association with Think Therapy 1st, providing evidence-based rehabilitation and developing his expertise in rehabilitation case management for individuals with complex injuries.

Jared is recognised for producing objective, practical and clinically robust reports that assist the Court in understanding the impact of injury on an individual’s functional capacity, rehabilitation potential, care requirements and future needs. He has experience responding to Part 35 questions, participating in joint expert discussions and attending conferences with legal teams, ensuring his opinions are clearly explained and supported throughout the litigation process.

Jared accepts instructions from both Claimant and Defendant solicitors in relation to Care and Occupational Therapy, Loss of Service, Quantum and Rehabilitation claims arising from personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
