An experienced nurse with 25 years’ clinical experience across acute nursing, primary care, community-based care, assisting individuals with complex clinical needs.
Compliant with all in in house CPD training in respect of her role and duties as a Part 35 expert witness and understands the competencies required of her. Undergone comprehensive training in the medicolegal process and has a detailed understanding of her responsibilities pursuant to Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and the supplemental Practice Direction. She has worked on behalf of both Claimant and Defendant firms preparing Part 35 complaint reports, as well as short reports on urgent timescales.

Clinically current through her role as a GP Practice Nurse and Hospice Nursing. Experienced in the care of patients with complex needs including but not limited to orthopaedic complications including amputations, colostomy and ileostomy care, and strokes. Hands on experience of domiciliary care packages, having provided eight years of foster care for a child with a catastrophic, non-accidental brain injury. Undertakes hospice nursing shifts where she has current clinical experience caring for patients with terminal illness and respiratory issues including mesothelioma, silicosis, giving her up-to-date knowledge of changing needs in the end-of-life period.
Liability
As part of her clinical duties Jane has assessed and directed care for patients with a wide cross section of injuries sustained and has provided extensive training in relation to these practice areas.
She has extensive knowledge of reasonable standards of practice and can apply these to breach of duty and liability principles; able to report on practice nursing – standards of practice for practice nursing, wound care, venesection, injection administration, errors in vaccination administration, standards of training and competence, ear drum perforation/ irrigation, travel vaccinations, phlebitis and tracking, PICC lines and PEG sites. General breaches: falls, pressure sores, wound management and complications from surgical interventions, head injuries, industrial diseases.
