Rebecca is a Tissue Viability Nurse with an adult nursing diploma and wound lower limb diploma, providing specialist services nationwide, with clinical practice in both the NHS and private sector.
Rebecca has worked as a care home clinical practitioner for Tissue Viability, undertaking one-to-one wound support visits to implement wound care plans, she has delivered specialist training to healthcare staff and ensured their adherence to best practice. Within this role Rebecca was involved in wound care panels, sitting with members of the local authority as part of a multi-disciplinary team to implement plans for the client and work towards safeguarding and prevention of recurrence.
She has worked as Lead Nurse for wound care within a large primary care network, where she set up and led the wound care clinic for patients within GP practices, working to maintain continuity and ensure timeliness of practice, adhering to best practice. Rebecca led the development of wound care pathways and has implemented training programs to educate junior clinicians and enhance clinical competencies.
Rebecca is familiar with review of current standards and ensuring clinical compliance with NICE guidance, hospital trust policies, European standards for pressure ulcer categorisation, and the society of tissue viability.
Rebecca is in self-employed practice as a Case Manager, undertaking initial needs assessments typically relating to wound care management. This gives her understanding of the ongoing impact of life-changing catastrophic injury and she applies this to her medico-legal practice.
Rebecca accepts instructions on behalf of Claimant and Defendant firms in liability claims; specialising in the areas of post-surgical complications, nursing care, standards of care in GP, hospital, care home settings in spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputations and pressure ulcer claims.
