Caron is an Executive Director of Nursing and a previous Director of Nursing and Deputy Chief Nurse. She qualified as an adult nurse in 1989 and as a paediatric nurse in 1992, she is a Nurse Tutor and studied Advanced Clinical Practice at MSc level. She was previously Chair of the Association of British Paediatric Nurses and the Deputy Chair of the Association of Chief Children’s Nurses. She has an expert understanding of nursing care and health care provision in acute provider services. She has completed the Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate.

She has worked in many clinical roles including paediatric intensive care, liver and kidney transplant services, in experienced in renal and urology nursing as well as more general nursing experience. She held several clinical leadership roles before moving into senior and Director level management roles. She has an extensive clinical background and the ability to work at a strategic level. In 2018 she was given a Chief Nurse (England) award for nursing excellence.

Caron was responsible for strategic leadership to the quality agenda in a specialist acute provider trust being accountable for the quality agenda in its entirety from patient experience to risk management and regulatory compliance. Her portfolio included PALS and complaints, quality of nursing care, bereavement and end of life care, management of serious incidents requiring investigation, legal services, and risk management.

In her current role she is the nurse executive of an NHS Foundation Ambulance Trust Board with a remit to promote high quality care. This includes patient experience and complaints services, legal services, risk management, infection control and public health agendas. This work involves using critical analysis skills, authoring complex clinical reports and reports for an executive audience.

She has a successful career in the NHS and is now applying her extensive knowledge and skills to a medico-legal career.
