Fiona is an NMC registered Nurse with clinical and managerial experience in the NHS, private and business sector. She qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1985 and worked in a number of clinical and managerial roles in hospitals in Manchester. She has also undertaken independent case management and Healthcare consultancy work since leaving the NHS and worked with children, adults with brain injury, MCS, spinal cord injury, respiratory disease, pain conditions, mental health, amputation and end of life care. She understands and can make recommendations for care provision within services and the community/ home settings.
She is the founder and director of Fiona Johnson Ltd of which she is the Clinical Lead. She is supported by an employed legal/administration team and the clinical board with a membership of clinical colleagues which oversees the governance/ learning and development of new associates, quality and safety. Fiona supports development and mentors a number of experienced clinicians starting to undertake medico legal work.
As an expert witness she has established a significant practice in high value catastrophic injury claims. Fiona has undergone formal training in the medico-legal process and is fully aware of responsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) pertaining to Expert Witnesses. Fiona has given oral evidence in court on a number of occasions, attends conferences and joint discussions and has prepared over 1200 liability and Quantum reports instructed by claimants and defendants.
