Enquire NowMonique is an experienced Occupational Therapist with over ten years of service within the NHS, specialising in community paediatrics. She manages a diverse caseload of children and young people (CYP) with complex health and social care needs. She has experience in community settings, clinics, educational environments and within a social care capacity. Monique’s experience extends from working with infants to supporting young adults transitioning into adult services, equipping her with a broad and adaptable skill set suitable for both paediatric and adult populations.
Monique is skilled in assessing functional skills to enhance engagement and participation. She has worked with individuals with various medical and developmental needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, Cerebral Palsy, Hemiplegia, Erb’s Palsy and orthopaedic injury. She has experience facilitating hospital discharges, recommending treatment plans, and assessing equipment needs to support participation in daily activities.
Her role involves producing detailed reports for various purposes, including those to advocate for significant adaptations and Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s). Monique’s reports clearly communicate the functional objectives the CYP aspire to accomplish and the treatment recommendations to meet those objectives. Monique also has experience attending a tribunal, with a case where there was a dispute about the special needs and education provision of a CYP. She has previously had to attend a hearing as a witness and articulate the CYP’s needs based on her comprehensive assessments.
